Massage therapy is used to help manage many health conditions or enhance overall wellness. It involves manipulating the soft tissue muscles of the body. Massage has been practiced in most cultures, both Eastern and Western, throughout human history, and was one of the earliest tools that people used to try to relieve pain. Massage therapy has been studied for several types of pain, including low-back pain, neck and shoulder pain, pain from osteoarthritis of the knee, and headaches.

Swedish massage is the most popular type of massage in the United States. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation, decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion. Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. Includes hot towel for comfort and relaxation.

A stone massage is a massage that uses smooth, flat, and heated rocks placed at key points on the body. The stone massage is a form of alternative medicine massage therapy and bodywork involving the placement of several heated or cooled stones to the body for the purpose of pain relief, relaxation and therapy. There are a many variations and techniques used in the application of stone massage therapy, deriving from a variety of traditional practices. Includes hot towel for comfort and relaxation.

Myofascial (my-o-FASH-e-ul) release is a manual therapy technique often used in massage. The technique focuses on pain believed to arise from Myofascial tissues — the tough membranes that wrap, connect and support your muscles. Myofascial release focuses on reducing pain by easing the tension and tightness in the trigger points. Includes hot towel for comfort and relaxation. Fascia blasting tool optional.

Cupping is a practice used in traditional medicine in several parts of the world, including China and the Middle East. It involves creating suction on the skin using a glass, ceramic, bamboo, or plastic cup. Negative pressure is created in the cup either by applying a flame to the cup to remove oxygen before placing it on the skin or by attaching a suction device to the cup after it is placed on the skin. This technique increases circulation and reduces pain and discomfort from restricted muscle fibers. Includes hot towel for comfort and relaxation.

Developed to help with muscle systems used for a particular sport, sports massage uses a variety of approaches to help athletes in training -- before, during, or after sports events. You might use it to promote flexibility and help prevent injuries. Or, it may help muscle strains, aiding healing after a sports injury. Includes hot towel for comfort and relaxation. Prenatal Massage is a collection of traditional techniques used to reduce pregnancy discomfort, facilitate labor and help with anxiety and stress during pregnancy. Includes hot towel for comfort and relaxation.
